What do we mean when we say Beauty magick? We’re talking about aesthetic beauty, succulence, juiciness, aliveness, splendor, harmony, delight.
We're talking sensual bliss, peace, wellbeing and joy. Beauty with a capital B. Hell yeah. Let's explore a sprinkling of art spells to invite the magick of beauty into our lives. Let’s PLAY!
The Beauty Oculus
The Beauty Oculus is magickal tool designed to aid in zoning in on beauty when it feels difficult to find. Changing the way we observe the world changes what we observe. Create an oculus to help you hunt for beauty in unlikely places.
You may also find it helpful to create a necklace or pendant oculus to wear over your heart and carry with you throughout the day to strengthen the "eyes of the heart". You can learn how to make an oculus in my book, Rainbow Magick.
Muse Abode
Construct a Muse Abode to invite the spirit of Beauty to stay a while. This is a riff on spirit bottles and spirit houses. However, instead of trapping a spirit, we can create an abode for a muse to lounge.
Craft a soft nest, decorate a beautiful cup or alter a thrifted birdhouse to create a comfortable abode for the energies of Beauty to rest, relax and stay a while.
A Friendly Mirror.
Decorate and consecrate a mirror for working with your inner beauty.
Cultivating a sense of loving curiosity and wonder about ourselves helps us recover from cultural lies AND nourish our inner world. Festoon your mirror with painted imagery, collage, or assemblage to reflect your desires.
Use this sacred mirror as an ally in spells for self-confidence and constructing glamours.
Bliss Sprinkler
A Bliss Sprinkler is designed to shower flirtatious blessings on all who pass under it. Create a suncatcher, mobile or ribbon wreath for a portal in your home. Maybe your Bliss Sprinkler is a collection of bundles of flowers or a weaving you’ve created, a disco ball with fabric streamers.
Enchant this mobile or hanging with the power to shower blessings of beauty and delight on any who pass through.
Copper Wire Craft.
In western planetary magick traditions, copper is associated with Venus, the planet of beauty and harmony. We can invite Venusian influences into our art and craft with copper wire.
Bend wire into jewelry, candle rings, garden décor, bowls, baskets, or charms for your grimoire. You may also wish to customize your art magick tools like brushes or clay carving tools to imbue them with Venusian qualities.
Sponge Amulet
For some of us, it can be difficult to accept beauty. Do you squirm when confronted with compliments or luscious experiences? Use a sponge to create an amulet to help you soften and absorb beauty.
Create a sponge friend with rubber bands, cut a sponge into a personally significant shape, or sew a sponge into a small pillow and charge it to assist you in soaking up beautiful experiences.
The Beauty Compass
Create a compass to lead your witchy imagination towards beauty. Alter an existing compass, craft a compass from paper or recycled jar lid. Perhaps it’s a wearable compass charm or a depiction of a compass in your grimoire.
